The Intermediate Technical Writer will be responsible for editing, writing, standardizing, researching, and authenticating various forms of documentation including policies, procedures, training manuals, and handbooks. This role involves collaborating with management and the training team to ensure that all materials are current, relevant, and effectively communicated. The writer will also coordinate review meetings for documentation approval and contribute to the development of an annual work plan, while actively participating in the Policy and Procedures Governance Team.

  • Design and maintain an Intranet-based online help system.
  • Maintain user guides, workflows, and other corporate documents such as tutorials and reference materials.
  • Work with management and subject matter experts to develop policies and procedures.
  • Review documentation for consistency, adhering to Kaiser Permanente style guidelines and quality standards.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel across multiple departments.
  • Interact closely with subject matter experts to gather necessary information.
  • Understand applicable regulations and incorporate changes to existing policies and procedures as needed.
  • Maintain thorough records of work and revisions, contributing to department logs and databases.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in technical writing and/or regulatory or public policy development.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Experience reviewing and comparing data/policies/processes to identify inconsistencies.
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing complex information.
  • Technical Writing Certification strongly preferred.
