Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as NCIDQ is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interior design, preferably with exposure to both residential and commercial projects.
  • Proficiency with design and presentation software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA standards, and other regulatory requirements relevant to interior design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • A passion for historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team while embodying a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, clients, and contractors to develop interior design concepts that meet client requirements and enhance architectural projects.
  • Create detailed interior design plans, including space planning, furniture layouts, material selections, and color schemes.
  • Prepare presentations and renderings to effectively communicate design ideas to clients and project teams.
  • Select and specify interior finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment in alignment with project budgets and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely procurement and installation of interior elements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and project records to facilitate efficient workflow and client communication.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, materials, technologies, and best practices to continually elevate design quality and innovation.
