About The Position

Award-Winning Design Studio, located in Downtown Los Angeles, is actively seeking a full-time Interior Designer to join their growing team. The collaborative studio of Architects and Interior Designers has quickly been transforming the city fabric of Los Angeles. Sweeping up awards from IIDA, Dwell, and AIA, they have been bringing a fresh contemporary look to workplace interiors, adaptive reuse, commercial, and residential. Recent projects have focused on workplace and tenant improvement for clients such as digital media companies, finance, law, tech organizations, and creative studios. The team is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer with 4–7 years of experience to join their team full-time. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, energized by a creative studio environment, motivated to push themselves and others to do great work, organized, and excited about the opportunity to grow quickly.

Requirements

  • Genuine enthusiasm for design and the built environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a studio team.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design intent.
  • Ability to develop conceptual ideas through sketches, renderings, models, and diagrams.
  • Advanced space planning skills.
  • Knowledge of design trends, construction methodologies, material applications, and vendor/manufacturer options.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of furniture manufacturers, product reps, and installers.
  • Knowledge of fixtures, equipment, finishes, lighting, art, signage, color, and materials.
  • Advanced understanding of building code regulations.
  • Experience with city permitting processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Autodesk Revit and Enscape (required).
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Bluebeam Revu.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Based in the Los Angeles area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (minimum).
  • 4–7 years of professional interior design experience (more experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply) .
  • Ability to work in person a minimum of 4 days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • SketchUp and Rhino (preferred but not required).
  • NCIDQ, WELL, and/or LEED credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interacting with clients and representing the firm with professionalism.
  • Collaborating with senior interior designers to develop inventive, cost-effective design solutions.
  • Using hand sketching, digital modeling, and renderings to clearly convey design ideas.
  • Producing design packages, construction documents, and contributing to specifications.
  • Assisting with programming efforts, including visioning sessions and space planning exercises.
  • Preparing 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings for conceptual and developed design.
  • Sourcing finish materials, products, and custom fabrications with a strong technical understanding.
  • Preparing and reviewing documents across all design phases for permitting and construction.
  • Coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure project requirements are fully integrated.
  • Managing tight timelines while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail.
  • Communicating clearly in both written and verbal form to support smooth collaboration.
  • Taking initiative, working independently when needed, and finding clarity on complex projects.
  • Participating in construction administration, including site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
