About The Position

The SCM Supervisor leads and optimizes day-to-day supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution. This role ensures efficient material flow, cost control, and high service levels while supervising a team of supply chain professionals. The first 3 months are an interim hourly contract to assess fit, performance, and team dynamics. Upon successful completion and mutual agreement, the role converts to a full-time salaried position with standard benefits.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Relevant work experience outweighs formal education — candidates with extensive hands-on supply chain experience will be strongly considered even without a college degree.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory management, or related operations (increased from previous 5+ to account for experience-heavy focus).
  • At least 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, retail, or industrial environments.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, improving processes, and achieving measurable KPIs.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or inventory management.
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, retail, or industrial environment.
  • Proven track record managing teams, improving processes, and achieving KPIs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory control, order fulfillment, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply chain coordinators, buyers, planners, and warehouse staff; handle performance reviews, scheduling, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, cycle counts, supplier performance, freight costs, and inventory turns.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, finance, and quality teams to align supply chain processes with business goals and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, minimize waste, improve efficiency, and enhance customer/supplier satisfaction.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with regulations (e.g., safety, customs, quality standards).
  • Manage inventory levels to balance service and cost; conduct cycle counts and address discrepancies.
  • Analyze data and generate reports on supply chain performance; identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ERP/system requirements.
  • Support forecasting, production planning, and risk management (e.g., supply disruptions).
  • Participate in or lead special projects, such as system implementations or warehouse optimizations.
