About The Position

Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAfG) is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our STEM programs that engage elementary-aged girls in hands-on STEM activities. This is a full-time, hybrid, interim position for approximately 7 months, covering for a staff member who will be on maternity leave. The Interim Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our STEM programs, ensuring that they are executed with excellence and meet the Gold Standard. This role requires strong strategic planning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage and develop a high-performing teaching team. The position will manage both our teaching staff and our programs, ensuring that all programming runs smoothly and continues to deliver high-quality experiences for participants. The organization is committed to inspiring young girls in TK-6th grades to explore and excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through a range of engaging out-of-school programs. Our initiatives include a 27-week afterschool program, STEM Spring Break sessions, Summer Camps, Family STEAM Nights, and a STEM Library Program. The Interim Program Manager will ensure that each program is delivered with a high level of quality and adherence to organizational standards, addressing and resolving any issues or challenges that arise during the course of the programs. This can be a fast-paced environment at times, so the candidate needs to be flexible, adaptable, and able to pivot easily. In addition to program oversight, the Interim Program Manager will supervise and support the teaching team, including Head Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Near Peers, and Volunteers. They will ensure that all team members are well-prepared and equipped to deliver exceptional instruction and engagement in every class. The role also involves implementing strategic plans for program delivery and improvement, monitoring and assessing program performance, and managing program schedules and resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for helping shape the next generation of scientists.
