The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Women's Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects of a successful NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program. This role involves using professional athletics concepts and strategies for program development and maintenance, assuming full management of specific program aspects, and assisting with recruitment, practice, and administrative duties.

Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards
Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes
Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity (Women's Basketball)
Demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles
Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
May need to maintain NCAA certified recruiter status
May need to maintain CPR / AED and First Aid certification
4-6 years Division I player experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience coaching camps and club basketball

Responsibilities

Assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Women's Basketball program on the NCAA Division I level
Using a complete range of professional athletics concepts and strategies for developing and maintaining all aspects of sports programs
Assuming full management of specific aspects of the sports program
Assisting with recruitment
Assisting with practice duties
Assisting with administrative duties
