About The Position

The Dallastown Area School District seeks to fill Part-Time, 10-Month Intensive Learning Support Paraprofessionals for Dallastown Area Intermediate School (Grades 4-6) who will play a valuable role in inspiring and creating pathways for student success by supporting special education teachers in the delivery of supports and services for students with IEPs.

Requirements

• Highly Qualified = High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of an assessment through our special educaton department,
• OR, Completed at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more)
• OR, Associate's Degree or higher,
• Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year
• Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children
• Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others
• Acceptable record of attendance

Responsibilities

• Able to carry out oral and written instructions including those in the student's IEP to allow access to the educational environment.
• Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises
• Performing routine clerical work
• Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
