About The Position

Under the administrative and clinical supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the IHBT Therapist provides individual and/or family assessment, psychotherapy, and TBS to caregivers, children, and families in Cuyahoga County. Sessions occur in the home and community. Therapist services a small caseload for a period of 3 to 6 months. Coordination with DCFS and/or other referrals sources and other formal supports is expected. Work hours are flexible, some evening hours are expected.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Current and valid LSW, LPC, or MFT license.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) preferred.
  • Preferred but not required prior experience providing mental health services to children and families in a home-based or community setting.
  • Preferred but not required experience working with families experiencing complex challenges, including trauma and poverty.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly team consultation and ongoing training with consultant.
  • Participate in weekly individual and/or group supervision with clinical supervisor.
  • Provide IHBT services based on client needs including assessment and treatment following the IHBT model to fidelity.
  • Obtain and maintain annual Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) certification to be able to provide CANS assessment with all referrals as needed.
  • Develop and coordinate focused, measurable and achievable ITPs that are consistent with the client and family's identified needs. Gather information in a timely and systemic manner that will enable ongoing diagnosis, assessment, and treatment planning that includes other providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with families and clients in the development of crisis plans and provides crisis assistance and coaching as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strengths-focused, professional alignment and engagement with families.
  • Identify problems within family system and utilize appropriate interventions to address diverse family needs.
  • Work within team setting and coordinate with other professionals involved in case. Identify needed resources/referrals and make necessary linkages to assist with stabilization and to ensure ongoing support for the family.
  • Assist clients and families with the development of skills that will enhance and improve family functioning in areas that include but are not limited to interpersonal relationships, anger management, coping, etc.
  • Provide supportive services to client and school staff as needed and requested by parents and school administrators.
  • Meet productivity expectations established for IHBT staff.
  • Form and maintain collaborative working relationships with natural supports, collateral professionals and/or agencies concerning individual cases.
  • Assist and advocate on behalf of clients and families to secure needed resources, services and supports.
  • Maintain a professionalism with clients and families that reflects courtesy, respect and the highest ethical standards.
  • Close cases in a timely manner, accurately completing discharge and aftercare plans and related paperwork based on goal achievement and/or agency policy/procedure.
  • Maintains flexibility in scheduling to accommodate evenings for appointments as needed.
  • Secure supervisory signatures per licensing guidelines and agency policy/procedure.
