INTENSIVE ENGLISH INSTRUCTOR (Temporary position) Ministry: Education and Workforce Development Primary Office: Manassas, VA Hours per Week: 36- non-exempt Starting Hourly rate: $30.00 non-exempt Staff Supervisor: Education Services Supervisor Telework Available: ___ No __x__ Hybrid (instructional preparation only) Position Description: The Intensive English Instructor will plan and implement intensive English courses for adult ESOL students. Courses will be 6 weeks long and be provided 4 days a week for 4 hours a day at Manassas location from 1 – 5 pm. Up to 4 hours/day for instructional preparation will be available for instructors either on site or remotely. This role is contingent on grant funding
Requirements
- Fluency in Microsoft 365 Office and other relevant software
- Effective communication and people skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to evaluate situations, anticipate issues, and develop creative solutions.
- One or more years of experience working in a multi-cultural setting.
- TESOL certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience with intensive English courses in person preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations.
- Collaborate with volunteer instructors and coordinators.
- Assist with class coordination tasks, and student registration.
- Substitute teaching for other ESOL classes, when needed
- Attend team meetings.
- Willingness to uphold Catholic social teaching
- Other duties as assigned
