About The Position

We are seeking an experienced ICU RN to join a 10-bed, high-acuity intensive care unit in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This unit manages medical and surgical ICU patients, including ventilated patients, vasoactive medication management, cardiac, pulmonary, metabolic, and low-acuity trauma cases. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team-focused environment. Unit Details 10 private ICU beds Continuous cardiac monitoring Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2–3 (Days & Nights) Average Census: 8–10 patients Average Length of Stay: 3–4 days Strong leadership presence on unit Shadow shift required prior to hire

Requirements

  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent (within last 3 years) acute care ER, ICU, or CVICU experience.
  • PCU/IMCU considered with minimum 2 years experience.
  • BLS certification (within 30 days if not current).
  • ACLS certification (within 90 days if not current).
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 90 days).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (within 90 days).
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree.
  • CCRN certification.
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability skills.
  • This role is best suited for a collaborative, adaptable RN with strong critical care assessment skills and the ability to manage ventilated and medically complex patients in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients.
  • Perform continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring.
  • Administer vasoactive drips and advanced ICU therapies.
  • Conduct frequent patient reassessments and respond to acute changes.
  • Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatments and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation.
  • Promote patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
