About The Position

The Integrated Logistics and Sustainment (ILS) Lead is responsible for end‑to-end planning, integration, and execution of logistics and life‑cycle sustainment for a Department of War program. This role ensures that systems are supportable, deployable, and maintainable from initial fielding through end‑of-life while meeting Department of War requirements for readiness, contested logistics, supply chain resilience, and interoperability with joint, allied, and industrial base partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in defense logistics, integrated product support, or life‑cycle sustainment, with direct support to Department of War or service programs.
  • Strong knowledge of DoW / service logistics and product support policies, life‑cycle sustainment planning, and contested logistics concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience leading logistics efforts for complex systems, including coordination with program offices, depots, and operational units.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, technical data management, and digital tools supporting logistics visibility and supply chain risk management.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams, brief senior government stakeholders, and operate effectively in fast‑paced, operationally focused environments.
  • This position requires an active U.S. national security clearance and the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of the program’s Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) / Product Support strategy in alignment with Department of War policies, life‑cycle management directives, and critical technology area priorities (including contested logistics).
  • Develop and maintain required logistics and sustainment documentation (e.g., Life‑Cycle Sustainment Plan, ILS Plan, maintenance concepts, provisioning data, support equipment lists) in accordance with applicable DoW and service guidance.
  • Conduct and oversee logistics analyses (LORA, sparing analyses, reliability and maintainability inputs, level‑of-repair decisions) to inform design and life‑cycle cost, ensuring compliance with readiness and availability objectives.
  • Plan and manage spares, repair parts, and supply chain strategies that support contested logistics operations, including forward positioning of materiel, alternate sourcing, and risk‑mitigation for critical items.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering and program management to ensure supportability, maintainability, and training requirements are captured in system requirements and verified during test and evaluation.
  • Lead sustainment readiness for fielding and deployment events, including initial provisioning, technical data, training, and support equipment, ensuring units can operate systems under degraded infrastructure and communication conditions.
  • Monitor in‑service performance (e.g., operational availability, MTBF, supply response times, obsolescence) and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement in partnership with depots, OEMs, and field units.
  • Ensure logistics interoperability with joint, allied, and whole‑of-government partners by aligning data standards, support concepts, and contingency plans with Department of War guidance on integrated deterrence and contested logistics.
  • Serve as primary logistics and sustainment interface with Department of War stakeholders, program offices, logistics commands, depots, and key industry partners, including defense industrial base suppliers.
  • Support planning for surge and mobilization by developing contingency logistics plans, redundancy options, and regional support strategies consistent with Department of War expectations for resilient supply chains.
