Integrated Health Adjunct Faculty
About The Position
The adjunct faculty position in Integrative Health in the School of Integrated Health (SIH) will educate adult learners through teaching in an online modality the foundations of Integrative Health. Responsibilities include teaching courses in the Integrative Health specialization in the academic Masters of Science in Integrative Health program. Additional responsibilities may include facilitating ongoing curriculum development and improvement, presenting seminars, leading courses, attending meetings online, and serving within the School of Integrated Health as needed. Successful candidates must be committed to a Christ-centered approach to education and in agreement with the Wesleyan theological perspective.
Requirements
- According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
- Master's Degree in Integrative Health related field required
- Experience teaching using an online modality
- Substantial evidence of effective Integrative Health practices
- An appreciation for the interests of working adults
- An awareness of higher education academic and administrative processes with an understanding of public health certification process
- A solid track record as a collaborative leader with effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and a strong interest in realizing IWU's institutional learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of online educational delivery tools
- Demonstrate teaching abilities
- Demonstrate higher education experience
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft products
- Demonstrate knowledge of adult learners
- Demonstrate a commitment to building and cultivating diversity through leadership, teaching and/or service
Nice To Haves
- PhD or Doctorate in related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Serve as an adjunct for the Integrative Health programs
- Facilitate online courses in Integrative Health
- Attend adjunct meetings per the program director
- Evaluate student work through timely and meaningful feedback
- Provide oversight to program director regarding Integrative Health best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Division of Nursing and/or Associate Dean with oversight of the integrative health program(s).
