About The Position

TURNER is looking for an Integrated Communications Intern to join the team in the Denver or New York office. Under the guidance of a TURNER team member, the internship will provide the selected candidate(s) with the opportunity to gain experience working in a travel, tourism and lifestyle PR firm. This position is hybrid. Students will be compensated $20.00 per hour for their participation in this program. TURNER strives to make its internship program one of the best in the nation. Interns are introduced to a wide cross-section of public relations and digital media, including research, reporting, media and influencer relations, content development, social media, a whole lot of writing and special events. Interns are also involved in some broader office activities, including team meetings and brainstorming sessions. TURNER seeks to provide interns with the tactical experience that will help them build a meaningful resume and portfolio, in addition to meeting their individual needs and career goals. Requirements

  • The candidate must be a full-time student.
  • Strong research, organizational and writing skills
  • A general understanding of public relations, social media and online and traditional media
  • Talent, drive, and the ability to work independently and in team settings within a deadline-driven environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for Visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • While preference is given to public relations, communications, journalism and related majors, all applicants will be considered.
  • Prior internship experience in public relations, communications, journalism or related fields are also a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develops media/influencer lists, editorial calendars, social media content and media results reports
  • Participates in internal team meetings, research and ideation
  • Drafts news releases, website/social media copy, fact sheets, blog posts and other written materials
  • Supports coordination of events and event resources with internal team members
  • Interacting with media as needed, from pitching opportunities or sample requests
