About The Position
God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider specializing in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological, and psychological effects of trauma, and include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach. The Intake Coordinator manages the initial registration for new clients, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure a smooth, efficient entry into services. This role involves verifying insurance, gathering medical histories, completing necessary documentation, and collaborating with mental health staff to determine appropriate care levels, ensuring a supportive experience.
Requirements

- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field is required; high school diploma may be acceptable depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Review, process, and track incoming referrals from various sources.
- Screen clients for service appropriateness and conduct interviews regarding mental health history and current needs.
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and schedule intake appointments with clinical staff.
- Work with clinical teams for case assignment and link clients to appropriate community resources.
- Provide urgent intervention and support over the phone to patients in distress.
