About The Position

Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking a full-time Intake Clinician Available Hours: Monday - Friday Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. The Patriot Support Program at Midwest Center offers specialized treatment designed to address the behavioral health needs and challenges of the children of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members. Patients admitted will meet clinical and financial criteria established the the Facility. Requirements

  • Master's degree in mental health discipline or RN license in Indiana is required.
  • Minimum three years of worke experience in behavioral/mental health field required.
  • Minimum two years of work experience in Intake Department preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for services
  • Accurately completes referral forms for each request
  • Determines clinical appropriateness and seeks consultation of each request for service
  • Facilitates patient admissions process
  • Assists with insurance managed care pre-certifications
  • Communicates with internal departments on admissions and discharges
  • Communicates with Marketing on referral source requests or follow-up
