About The Position

This role is responsible for managing and overseeing a client’s full journey through the intake and ongoing care process – specifically verifying benefits, completing the initial authorization, and completing any ongoing authorizations. This role will serve as one of the main points of contact for clients undergoing treatment for questions involving insurance and/or the authorization process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college experience or degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of insurance verification and authorization experience required
  • 1-2 years customer service experience required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Accurately verifying patient benefits for new intake clients
  • Accurately verifying current patient benefits on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Communicating complex insurance benefit information with families
  • Completing the full Initial Assessment authorization process, including gathering required documents and timely submission to insurance
  • Completing ongoing reauthorization requests for current clients, including ensuring all required documentation is up to date and timely submission to insurance
  • Serving as the patient’s insurance liaison during their treatment
  • Maintains a timely, accurate, and updated online database of all activities
  • Maintains consistent communication with BCBAs, Center Managers, Clinical Directors, and other involved parties on status of client and referral requests
  • Meets required KPIs regarding timely submission of authorization requests and patient satisfaction scores
  • Answering incoming calls, including but not limited to outside provider referrals and client inquiry requests as needed
  • Participates and contributes to the improvement of operational performance
  • Performs all duties with the organizational mission, vision, and goal top of mind
  • Other duties as assigned
