The Intake & Authorization Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Otterbein Universal's home health and hospice ministries. This position ensures timely, accurate, and efficient handling of intake calls, referral coordination, insurance authorizations, and admission processes. The role also supports payer verification, document management, and communication with referral sources, helping to ensure a smooth and prompt patient experience while upholding Otterbein SeniorLife’s mission and core values. Otterbein Universal Home Health provides Medicare-certified home health services for the elderly, complementing existing independent senior services, outpatient capabilities, and clinical facilities. These services are available to Otterbein West Liberty residents and those in the surrounding area, guided by Otterbein’s faith-based ministry, clinical skills, and strong community ties. Hospice care at Otterbein Universal focuses on providing peace, comfort, and quality of life for patients facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families and caregivers. The dedicated and compassionate team, including nurses, a chaplain, and a social worker, involves patients and their loved ones in care options to develop a personalized plan, often delivered in the comfort of their home.
