The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, and ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement for services provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance verification and pre-authorization
Strong knowledge of insurance plans, benefits, and coverage requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems

Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to treatment.
Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures as required by insurance companies.
Ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for services provided.
Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding coverage and payment issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of insurance verification and pre-authorization activities.
Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and financial outcomes.
