About The Position

The Insurance Verification Specialist reporting to Patient Services Manager is responsible for taking inbound calls to answer patients' questions about their medical bills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment and has a strong customer service focus to effectively interact with patients, doctors, staff, and management.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer support skills.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology and billing is a plus.
  • Understands Medical insurance, deductibles, copay, and coinsurance.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Customer service or insurance verification experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in Oculoplastic preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward patients at all times.
  • Work with patients to answer questions and resolve any potential billing issues.
