JOB SUMMARY Coordinates the registration and insurance verification of all patients scheduled at the Facility. Reports To: Business Office Manager Classification: Non-Exempt QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED required. Two years experience in medical office preferred. Computer experience required. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to speak effectively to internal and external customers required. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE Category III – Office Environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Contact patients scheduled for surgery to verify accuracy of demographics and enter any corrections into software system. Determine primary/secondary insurance carriers, verify benefit coverage and ensure data is entered. Calculate patient liability amount due on date of service. Inform the patient of disclosures concerning out of network providers and insurances. Ensure all contact with patients is recorded in the notes section of the software system. Observe patient confidentiality at all times and adheres to all HIPPA guidelines. Compliant with all financial policies and procedures of the department and facility. Participate in all cross training activities. Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.
