The Insurance State Filings Analyst (A&H) is responsible for preparing, submitting, and negotiating state rate, rule, and form filings to enable AXIS Accident & Health business units to bring products to market and write profitable business. This role partners across the organization to ensure filings meet regulatory requirements and business timelines, while maintaining strong relationships with state regulatory bodies. Success in this role requires attention to detail, organizational strength, regulatory knowledge, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in submitting rate and form filings for A&H or inland marine products to state regulatory authorities
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles and regulations, particularly in the A&H sector.
  • Knowledge of filing requirements and filing procedures for blanket and group products, specifically accident, critical illness, disability, GAP, hospital indemnity, dental, vision, employer stop loss, leisure travel and pet insurance products is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and ability to operate with minimal direction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Goal‑oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and consistently meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in insurance, regulatory compliance, or related fields.
  • Understanding of inland marine filing requirements and P&C regulations and principles is a plus.
  • Experience in using SERFF, IRFS, FilingRamp, or other insurance rate and form submission application.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit and track insurance rate and form filings for our A&H products to state regulatory authorities working under minimal direction.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, product development, legal and actuarial to gather and validate necessary information for assigned A&H filings and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the filing process for assigned filing projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on assigned filing projects including communication frequency agreed upon for the filing project.
  • Partner with external vendors to facilitate the preparation or submission of rate or form filings for our A&H products.
  • Process SERFF EFT and other internal reports when requested.
  • This role may include additional duties and responsibilities consistent with the nature and level of the position.
