In this highly visible, player/coach role, you will lead profitable growth as we implement new products, pricing, and underwriting in our largest market of Texas. You will bring deep homeowners insurance expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a collaborative approach to building a best‑in‑class insurance product organization. This role also includes management of one direct report, while partnering closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to drive product strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of product management, actuarial, finance, or related insurance experience, including at least 5 years in homeowners insurance.
  • 5+ years of management experience, including direct people leadership.
  • Experience partnering with Senior Leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Experience across Preferred, Standard, and Non‑Standard customer segments.
  • Strong track record of successful product launches and strategic execution.
  • Deep understanding of personal lines insurance and reinsurance, including market trends, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to guide and inspire cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and comfort using data to inform strategy.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen, regulatory understanding, and customer‑focused mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Product Implementation Customize actions for the Texas market to ensure successful implementation of new product, pricing, and underwriting initiatives for profitable growth.
  • Identify detailed market dynamics and develop targeted actions with partners to drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop product managers and consultants to deeply understand and win in their assigned markets.
  • Profitable Growth Management – Financial Oversight Maintain loss‑ratio discipline and risk tolerance while achieving growth in the assigned market.
  • Ensure forecasts and business goals reflect current and anticipated market conditions.
  • Risk Management Develop risk‑management tools and strategies to support growth in the Independent Agency channel.
  • Manage catastrophe and concentration risk effectively, including pricing components that adjust as new business impacts geographic distribution.
  • Competitive Intelligence Analyze competitor strategies and market dynamics; communicate insights to influence cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Expand competitive‑intelligence tools and capabilities as needed.
  • Performance Monitoring Regularly report on product performance and make data‑driven recommendations.
  • Define and refine KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Customer Focus Ensure products meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Integrate customer feedback into ongoing development and enhancement.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with underwriting, marketing, sales, IT, and operations to ensure coordinated product initiatives.
  • Develop holistic solutions aligned with enterprise strategy and senior leadership direction.
  • Regulatory Compliance Ensure all products comply with applicable regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Process Design Identify and build cross‑functional processes that enhance team effectiveness, efficiency, and collaboration.

Benefits

  • Pay Range: $157,500 – $200,000 annually
  • Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.
  • Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
  • You will also be eligible to receive an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to program guidelines and approvals
