The License Division maintains licenses for agents and business entities that are in good standing with Ohio’s laws. The Ohio Department of Insurance’s License Division is seeking a detailed oriented candidate to fill the Insurance Licensing Examiner position. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic, have excellent time management skills and be able to multi-task several projects/issues at the same time. Requirements

• 36 months training or 36 months experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) (e.g., agent, licensing technician, underwriter, claims adjuster)
• two (2) courses or six (6) months experience in customer service
• 12 months training or 12 months experience in operation of personal computer
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information and documents
• Review and analyze applications and supporting documents to determine license eligibility or continued eligibility
• Review and analyze license status and transactions
• Performs maintenance services on license records
• Reviews, researches, and resolves customer issues and complaints
• Make appropriate referrals to management and/or other divisions
• Provides professional written and/or verbal response for requests of information
• Assist customers via telephone/email by providing accurate and professional responses
• Performs related office and clerical duties
• Assists in the overall operation of the division
• Performs other duties as assigned.
