Mission Statement for the Ohio Department of Insurance License Division: The License Division’s mission is to issue licenses to qualified applicants. The License Division maintains licenses for agents and business entities that are in good standing with Ohio’s laws. The License Division is committed to providing the highest level of service to the insurance industry and to the citizens of Ohio. The Ohio Department of Insurance’s License Division is seeking a detailed oriented candidate to fill the Insurance Licensing Examiner position. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic, have excellent time management skills and be able to multi-task several projects/issues at the same time. Requirements

  • 36 months training or 36 months experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) (e.g., agent, licensing technician, underwriter, claims adjuster)
  • two (2) courses or six (6) months experience in customer service
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in operation of personal computer
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers information and documents
  • Review and analyze applications and supporting documents to determine license eligibility or continued eligibility
  • Review and analyze license status and transactions
  • Performs maintenance services on license records
  • Reviews, researches, and resolves customer issues and complaints
  • Make appropriate referrals to management and/or other divisions
  • Provides professional written and/or verbal response for requests of information
  • Assist customers via telephone/email by providing accurate and professional responses
  • Performs related office and clerical duties
  • Assists in the overall operation of the division
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
