About The Position

At Forth Insurance, you will gain a firm foundation of insurance and customer service knowledge by working closely with our Insurance & Risk Management Team and taking advantage of educational opportunities encouraged by our agency. The Forth Insurance team takes an active role in your career growth by investing. We are currently seeking Junior and Senior college level students to work as an Intern for an 8-week summer internship starting early June and ending early August 2026. As an intern, you will develop a wide range of general business skills and etiquette, through real-world experiences, applications and processes. The ideal Insurance Intern will work closely with the Insurance team and perform the following duties: New Business Development: Assist the marketing manager and/or sales manager in developing and implementing business-development initiatives. Activities include conducting marketing research via internet, telephone to prospects for identification of decision makers, preferred contact information, etc. Marketing Support: Assist in marketing activities such as prospect research, lead generation, submit applications and prepare proposals for presentation. Account Management: Learn how to input applications into the agency management system. Prepare certificates of insurance and prepare company specific applications. Review activities that are documented in the agency management system. Maintain own follow-up on outstanding policy items. Commercial lines / Personal lines: working with our account executive teams you will learn about our business through on-the-job training, servicing customer accounts, identifying possible new business/prospects, and managing account expiration lists. Policy Administration: Assist in maintaining accurate client records, policy documentation, and other critical data. Help in managing policies endorsements, renewals, and disbursement. Claims Handling: Assist team members to learn and participate in all aspects of claims within both Commercial lines and Personal lines of business. Risk Manager Support: Assist risk managers in pre-call strategy, closing techniques, answering objections, and working to an agreement, and attend personal visits with customers. Community Experience: Enjoy attending different events that foster community involvement . Learn to work beyond the office, give back to the community, and experience opportunities that will lead to building new relationships and strengthening current ones.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, and Liberal Arts (with business focus)
  • Must have at minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Self-starter who wants to be in the insurance industry and understands the value of relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn about the insurance industry.
  • Strong organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.
