About The Position

As an Insurance Intern at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will be part of a comprehensive internship program that provides real-world business, risk management, and insurance experience. You will assist with the timely and quality handling of new business, renewal business, and customer service needs. The internship will allow you to analyze and research service, coverage, and industry-related topics while shadowing assigned service staff and sales members. You will collaborate with fellow interns on projects and maintain professional ethics according to insurance standards and licensing laws in the State of Nebraska. This role is designed to help you apply classroom concepts through project work and client interaction, ultimately serving as a springboard into full-time careers in Client Management or Sales pathways.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completed two (2) semesters of college course work studying in an area of business.
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 minimum.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers and group insurance representatives.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools.

Nice To Haves

• Some insurance, risk management or finance courses preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
