This position is responsible for delivering exceptional client service and supporting crop insurance sales. You will maintain a portfolio of smaller clients, ensuring prompt and efficient servicing of clients crop insurance policies and collaborate with the sales team to provide comprehensive support. Fosters strong client relationships, identifies opportunities for cross-selling, and stays informed about the latest insurance products and industry trends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Must possess a valid crop insurance license or have the ability to obtain one within three (3) months of hire.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve goals and effectively represent the business.
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills when working with both internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, OnBase, Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) systems, and other tools required to support client and organizational needs.
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to meet strict, non-negotiable deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Client Service and Relationship Management
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains strong relationships with internal clients, external clients, and third parties; serves as a key liaison between the organization and these stakeholders.
  • Services and supports an existing crop insurance portfolio consisting of smaller clients who conduct business in the office, over the phone, or through digital platforms.
  • Serves as the primary relationship manager for assigned clients by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Conducts ongoing reviews of coverage and product information to ensure clients’ operational needs are consistently met throughout the year.
  • Completes required crop insurance documentation, including applications, production reports, acreage reporting, and claims.
  • Assists in facilitating client insurance claims by collaborating with the insurance sales team, adjusters, clients, and insurance companies.
  • Collaborates with Insurance Operations Team members and the Insurance Sales Team to ensure client needs are met.
  • Assists clients and the Crop Insurance Sales Team with policy-related questions via phone, email, and text.
  • Sales Support
  • Collaborates with Insurance Operations, Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) underwriters, and/or Insurance Officers to deliver services and address concerns.
  • Assists the Crop Insurance Sales Team with internal processes, procedures, and projects.
  • Prepares and delivers documents (applications, acreage reports, production reports) to support business growth and client meetings.
  • Reviews documents submitted by the Crop Insurance Sales Team for accuracy and quality control, ensuring compliance with Risk Management Agency (RMA), Approved Insurance Provider (AIP), and Compeer standards.
  • Prepares insurance documents and completes client mailings.
  • Generates reports from Power BI to assist the sales team in meeting deadlines.
  • Scans completed crop insurance documents into the document management system.
  • Utilizes ServiceNow to facilitate questions from the Crop Insurance Sales Team and AIP.
  • Assists with planning and executing sales events.
  • Data Entry
  • Accurately enters data into Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) systems, including applications, endorsements, acreage reports, production reports, and claims, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Prepares and provides pre-keyed source documents for client approval and generates resulting documents for review prior to distribution.
  • Enters data into Salesforce and submits claims to the AIP system as needed.
  • Manages document indexing within the document management system (OnBase).
  • Assists with seasonal AIP reporting cleanup to ensure completion of data entry.
  • Crop Insurance Sales
  • Focuses on retaining existing crop insurance clients while identifying opportunities to cross-sell products and services aligned with client risk management needs.
  • Facilitates sales appointments to enroll new clients, targeting those with similar size and service needs as existing portfolio clients.
  • Prepares quotes for client and prospect appointments.
  • Product and System Knowledge and Expertise
  • Completes continuing education courses to maintain required insurance licensing.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of crop insurance products offered through Compeer Financial and related FCS eligibility regulations.
  • Stays current on product details and program changes within Crop Insurance and USDA programs.
  • Ensures compliance with RMA guidelines and Compeer best practices across all product lines.
  • Effectively communicates risk management strategies and how specific products meet client needs.
  • Supports the use of company technology, tools, and policies.
  • Keeps current on process and procedure updates.
  • Assists with mentoring interns.
