About The Position

The Insurance Carrier Experience Manager is a key management role responsible for strengthening and expanding the firm’s strategic relationships with small to mid-size national insurance carriers. This position oversees critical workflows that support litigation management, compliance oversight, data governance, and operational excellence across the firm’s Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) portfolio. Serving as a centralized point of coordination between partners, attorneys, administrative teams, and carrier stakeholders, the Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance standardization, and ensure the firm consistently delivers high‑quality, compliant, and data‑informed service to its small to mid-size carrier relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational judgment, and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; JD preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience in insurance defense, litigation management, legal operations, or insurance carrier compliance required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with business, financial, or legal analytics strongly preferred.
  • Advanced analytical and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong leadership presence, organizational acumen, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive‑level materials.
  • Proficiency in Excel, legal case management platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to build collaborative and trusted relationships with attorneys, leadership, and administrative staff.
  • Familiarity with EPLI litigation, carrier guidelines, or legal billing practices is required.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and accountability in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Carrier Strategy & Relationship Management Serve as an operational and analytical partner to attorneys managing small to mid-size EPLI carrier relationships, providing high‑level support, strategic recommendations, and data‑driven insights.
  • Oversee execution of workflows tied to carrier initiatives, ensuring alignment with firm priorities and carrier expectations.
  • Lead coordination and tracking of rate adjustment requests, renewals, and approvals across small to mid-size carrier portfolios.
  • Manage and contribute to the development of small to mid-size carrier‑specific RFP responses, ensuring accurate and compelling representation of the firm’s capabilities and value proposition.
  • Compliance & Guideline Oversight Direct ongoing review of small to mid-size carrier case inventories to ensure firmwide compliance with litigation guidelines, reporting standards, and general carrier expectations and goals.
  • Partner with leadership, attorneys, and business services departments to proactively resolve compliance risks and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain an authoritative understanding of carrier‑specific requirements and communicate updates to attorneys and practice groups.
  • Data Governance, Reporting & Performance Insights Oversee the integrity, consistency, and maintenance of data related to carrier case inventories, budgets, rate structures, and performance metrics.
  • Lead recurring audits and analytical reviews to identify trends, risks, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Develop and present high‑impact reports and dashboards that summarize program performance, compliance status, volume trends, and strategic insights for leadership and carrier meetings.
  • Budget Program Leadership Manage the firm’s EPLI budget workflow, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant submission of initial budgets, updates, and revisions.
  • Track variance patterns and counsel attorneys and leadership on findings to support stronger future performance and client service.
  • Rate Analysis & Strategic Support for Carrier Negotiations Evaluate and synthesize carrier data to support attorneys during rate negotiations, renewal cycles, and business development discussions.
  • Collaborate with senior Revenue Department and EPLI Practiced Group leadership to craft strategy recommendations, identify negotiation levers, and prepare talking points tailored to each carrier’s priorities.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter resource for improving the firm’s overall carrier experience strategy.
