About The Position

Join INVISTA as a skilled Instrument Reliability Specialist to join our team in Orange, TX. This role focuses on maintaining and improving the reliability of instrumentation systems in a chemical plant environment, supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety practices.

Requirements

  • Understanding of electrical prints, loop sheets, schematics, and P&IDs
  • 3+ years of experience in instrumentation/electrical/analyzer systems OR an associate's degree in instrumentation with 2+ years of experience in refining or petrochemical industries
  • Experience in troubleshooting and inspecting process instrumentation
  • This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Required to wear any or all the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces with supplied breathing air and congested areas
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels, columns, and ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of eighty feet
  • Must be able to be on call

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Analyzer, or Process Technology
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode Cause Analysis
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems like SAP

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair process instrumentation, valves, and analyzers
  • Lead reliability initiatives and develop asset strategies
  • Create and revise maintenance procedures
  • Conduct root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions
  • Support operations during unit startups and shutdowns
  • Train operations and maintenance personnel on instrumentation systems
  • Maintain inspection, calibration, and reliability documentation
  • Collaborate on DCS control support and recommend system upgrades
