Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with at least 10 years I&E experience in chemical, food, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills.
Strong knowledge of chemical plant equipment and instrumentation.
Demonstrated specific expertise in the design of the instrument portion of P&ID's, equipment specification and layout.
Strong knowledge of MS Office: MS Word, MS Excel, CMMS, DMS.

Nice To Haves

Level 1, Instrumentation Certification (ISA) and familiar with DCS based control systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Some experience in a leadership capacity
Capability to develop and maintain document database.

Responsibilities

Monitor, repair, maintain and troubleshoot all field instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, valves, PLCs, plant safety systems, plant power systems, pH and conductivity meters, electrical equipment and control systems including plant safety systems and plant power systems.
Ensure that all equipment is safely released to the technicians.
Monitor E/I maintenance requirements and ensure all work orders are completed and closed out properly in the CMMS system.
Coordinate and direct outside contractors and vendors as required.
Based on field experience, provide input towards improving the efficiency of the preventative maintenance program.
Enforce all Port Newark safety and safe work practices including permit to work and confined space entry.
