About The Position

As an I&C Drafter at Olsson, you will support the development of high-quality engineering solutions for data center projects. You’ll assist in preparing instrumentation and controls design documents, collaborate with engineers and other disciplines, and help ensure designs meet project requirements and safety standards. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–4 years of experience in instrumentation and controls drafting or design.
  • Familiarity with engineering design software and tools (REVIT experience is a plus).
  • Basic understanding of control systems (DCS/PLC) and instrumentation technologies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to project success.

Nice To Haves

  • REVIT experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing instrumentation engineering/design deliverables including: Instrument Index Instrument Data Sheets Installation Details Instrument Location Plans Wiring Diagrams and Loop Diagrams
  • Support the development of control systems (DCS/PLC) documentation: I/O Lists Process Control Narratives Graphic Sketches Cause & Effect Diagrams Alarm Rationalization
  • Collaborate with third-party control system vendors and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Help develop and review P&IDs for various projects.
  • Assist in selecting and sizing I&C components such as valves, thermowells, orifice plates, and relief valves.
  • Work across disciplines to develop level sketches and ensure design integration.
  • Review vendor documentation and contribute technical input.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project site safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
