About The Position

Noveon is seeking a highly skilled and detailed-orientated Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to help aid in factory start up, electrical installs, and wiring. A qualified candidate will have a long history of quality job completion, extensive electrical knowledge, and a positive attitude. The role will require working with several teams across the factory floor and strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • Has a journeyman license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Has experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
  • Has experience in control wiring and specification.
  • Has the ability to read electrical blueprints and work from schematics.
  • Has experience working with low and high voltage equipment: 24, DC and AC, 120, 208, 277, and 480 volts.
  • Has experience running industrial equipment such as a forklift, boom lift, overhead crane, scissor lift, etc.
  • Has 2 years of maintenance and troubleshooting experience. (Oil and gas or plant and manufacturing industry preferred).
  • Has a knowledge of PLC I/O and analog.
  • Is able to work 2 nd shift, after hours and weekends as needed.
  • Has a strong eye for safety and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, positive attitude, and the ability to work as a team.
  • Shows a willingness to adapt and make changes and come up with creative solutions.
  • Is able to move up to 50lbs and able to bend, crouch, walk, and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Working in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Safely performing work in accordance with NEC NFPA 70, plant LOTO procedures, and local electrical codes.
  • Troubleshooting PLC and HMI code.
  • Diagnosing and resolving automation and electrical control issues.
  • Calibrating instrumentation including pressure sensors, thermocouples and load cells.
  • Analyzing automation system logs to identify performance anomalies.
  • Installing cable trays, EMTs, ridged conduits, electrical panels, disconnects, and MCCs.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing instrumentation; transmitters, control valves, switches, breakers, starters, relays, and VFD.
  • Utilizing a variety of instruments including ultrasonic, mass flow, pressure transducers thermocouples, RDs, load cells, etc.
  • Pulling wire and other various tasks needed to complete projects on time.
  • Maintaining a clean work area.
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with all team members and contractors.
