The Instrument Man supports the Survey Party Chief in the field by operating and maintaining a variety of land surveying instruments used for construction staking, boundary, topographic, ALTA, and other types of land surveys. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate data collection and efficient field operations. The Instrument Man is responsible for setup, calibration, operation, and data logging with total stations, GPS units, levels, and data collectors.
