About The Position

Perform basic technical tasks related to power plant instrumentation and controls, protection and equipment testing. Assist the Instrumentation & Control team by providing support for maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting activities under direct supervision. Interns will help with data collection, documentation, and basic tasks to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must at least be enrolled in an associate's program for Technology, Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Must be able to work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
  • Must be able to provide both written and verbal instruction to others when necessary.
  • Must be able to deal with customers and other employees in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or Job Description.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers and computer software applications.
  • Must qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Support locating and repairing defects in control systems by assisting with documentation and tool preparation.
  • Help inspect, adjust, and calibrate electrical relays under guidance.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of single-element and multiple-element control systems.
  • Observe and support inspections of instrument and control system components; assist with adjustments or replacements as directed.
  • Provide support for maintenance and installation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Assist in preparing systems for service or removal during tests or adjustments.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC/SLC Logic Control Systems by compiling data and assisting with basic programming tasks under supervision.
  • Help dismantle, overhaul, and reassemble electrical equipment by organizing tools and recording steps.
  • Compile and record data from tests and investigations; assist in preparing graphs, curves, and reports.
  • Follow all safety rules and company procedures while performing tasks under direct supervision.
  • Perform other related support duties as assigned.
