About The Position

This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department. This is a paid internship expected to last for no longer than 12 months. This position is a part-time (20 hours per week), hourly, nonexempt position. The intern should be available to occasionally work outside of regular business hours and on Saturdays, as needed. This position is mostly remote, but occasional in-office meetings may be expected. Advance notice will be given for any in-person events and work required outside of regular business hours. Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter to be considered. Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program — preferably in data analytics, technical writing, communication, computer science, or other related field.
  • Fluency in speaking, writing, and reading English is required.
  • Able to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Be dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy.
  • Open to feedback with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Seeking an educational experience to further your preparations for future employment opportunities.
  • Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation.
  • They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred that live in Utah or Idaho.
  • Experience using Canvas or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in another language is a plus, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Update specified reports daily.
  • Process BYU-Pathway support cases and grievances.
  • Analyze data and deliver reports to S&I areas concerning BYU-Pathway Religion courses.
  • Collaborate on process improvement.
  • Assist with instructor assignments during each BYU-Pathway term.
  • Consult, develop, and maintain internal and user-facing resources.
  • Assist in drafting communications to administrators and teachers worldwide.
  • Participate in team meetings, including professional development meetings, as needed.
  • Complete other projects and tasks as needed, ensuring attention to detail and consideration of important deadlines.
