The College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Radiologic Imaging Sciences located at the Northwest campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, resourceful individual to contribute to an established, high-quality program that enjoys strong institutional and community support. The faculty position is a 12-month non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications. About the Program • The Radiologic Imaging Sciences program admits 43 students per year for the full-time, 23-month Bachelor of Science degree track. Approximately 85 students are enrolled in the RIS program at any one time. An online degree completion option is also available to radiographers wanting to earn a BS degree in Radiologic Imaging Sciences. • Admission into the RIS program is competitive and is based on utilizing an individualized, holistic admission process that considers both academic and non-academic admission factors. • The curriculum emphasizes active learning methods that focus on integration and application of material and critical thinking skills. In-class sessions and labs incorporate problem-based and team-based learning, as well as inter-professional learning experiences. Students utilize skills and concepts acquired in class in real-world, hands-on clinical practicums. • Graduates of the program are eligible to take one or more national certification examinations administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
