The Business Administration Department in the Robert W. Plaster School of Business at Columbia College invites applications for full-time faculty at the Main Campus located in Columbia, Missouri, for the Fall 2026 academic year. The Mission of the Robert W. Plaster School of Business is to provide a rigorous, relevant, and practical learning environment built on a foundation of ethical leadership and personal growth. Staff and Faculty engage students with honesty and emotional intelligence, empowering them to strive for a greater impact on their careers and communities. Teaching, program coordination, professional development, and service are all required aspects of the position. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include undergraduate and graduate courses in Management or other business-related coursework. Customarily, an Instructor or Assistant Professor teaches 24 academic hours per academic year with 12 academic hours in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Departmental service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, program coordination, curriculum development and oversight of relevant course offerings in all Columbia College locations, oversight over co-curricular activities related to the faculty’s discipline that are approved for launch, playing a role in strategic planning, participation in department meetings, faculty association, committees, student advising, and other service activities such as academic assessment and curriculum development, and College events (may require occasional afternoon, evening, and/or weekend commitments). Professional development encompasses activities that demonstrate continued growth in the faculty member’s field, such as involvement in professional organizations, industry engagement, and scholarly or creative contributions. Columbia College has nationwide locations and a strong online program, and the successful candidate should be able to assist the department with curricular needs, development, and oversight in all teaching venues. Compliance with College policies and directions including but not limited to keeping records, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours, and evaluating student performance, etc. is required. Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated potential to contribute positively to a college community are expected.
