About The Position

The Business School brings together a world-class faculty, top-notch students, and influential business partners. With classes offered during the day, in the evening, and online, the Business School is the largest graduate school of business in the region and the first choice of business professionals; undergraduate business programs are recently revised and rapidly growing. Instructor of Information Systems What you will do: A successful candidate hired at the Instructor level can expect a 70%25 teaching work distribution (7 courses annually), 10%25 service, and 20%25 research/scholarship. The instructor role has research/scholarship responsibilities that may consist of publications in practitioner journals, documented professional education experiences, or participation in professional conferences. Successful candidates will be an integral part of programs and instruction for the Information Systems area. They should feel comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate students (BSBA with Information Systems Major, MBA or MS Information Systems). Candidates may be tasked with teaching and/or developing courses related to some of the following topics Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, programming languages such as JavaScript and Python, Database Management Systems, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, and Information Technology Management and Information Systems Strategy.

Requirements

  • Qualified to teach both undergraduate- and Masters-level courses.
  • A Ph.D. or DBA in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a terminal degree in a field closely related to Information Systems from an accredited (or equivalent) university, or
  • A Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a terminal degree in a field closely related to Information Systems from an accredited (or equivalent) university plus five or more years of mid-level managerial experience.
  • At least one year of experience teaching Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field
  • Instructional experiences while a student (e.g., a teaching assistantship) will satisfy teaching experience requirements only when the applicant was serving as the primary Instructor for the course.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in online or hybrid delivery.
  • The applicant shows potential for teaching effectiveness. Typical indicators include past teaching/course evaluations, a documented history of developed courses/curricula, and/or pedagogical training.
  • Evidence of recent intellectual contributions in research/scholarship should be within five years of receiving their terminal degree. This may include analytics-focused presentations at scholarly/practitioner conferences or publications in peer-reviewed academic or practitioner journals.
