Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Biology, or an associated field, with at least 18 graduate hours in biology or related areas is required.
  • Two years of teaching at a post-secondary level and/or related professional clinical experience is required.
  • The successful candidate will value diversity and have a multicultural perspective with adult/minority students; and have a high energy level along with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Classes taught can include the following: Principles of Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Genetics.
  • Responsibilities will include organizing and maintaining associated biology laboratories.
  • Responsibilities will include assessment, service on various college and department committees, maintenance of office hours, and other duties as assigned by the Dean.
  • Development of program specific curriculum, course guides, syllabi, and other materials related to the program.
  • Utilizing the Canvas LMS
  • Supervise adjunct instructors, as needed.
  • Instructor may be assigned day and evening classes, as well as classes at our satellite campuses (located within 15 miles of the main campus).
