About The Position

Full-Time Tenure Track Opportunity beginning in Fall 2026 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supports student learning by providing quality instruction for a wide variety of ESL courses, including but not limited to: English Composition; Academic Reading and Writing; and Grammar, Pronunciation, and Listening/Speaking. 2. Establishes clear course objectives; engaging class activities; effective presentations of learning materials; fair grading practices; timely responses to students; and a positive and inclusive classroom learning environment. 3. Handles a teaching load of fifteen (15) contact hours per semester. Related responsibilities include maintaining five (5) office hours per week for student advisement and tutoring and participating in departmental, divisional, and College-wide activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited program
  • College teaching experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of college teaching experience
  • Community college teaching experience in academic ESL
  • Experience teaching a variety of ESL levels and proficiency ranges
  • Experience using diverse, student-centered instructional methods that address a variety of learning styles and meet the needs of English language learners from varied cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of the College’s mission and vision
  • Commitment to a culture of assessment and evidence-informed teaching
  • Evidence of incorporating digital technologies in both face-to-face and online/remote classrooms
