About The Position

As a part-time instructor in the Manufacturing, Automotive and Construction Technology college, you will provide instruction in all levels of electronics, including certificate and/or transfer levels. You will teach courses that train students to become electronics and industrial maintenance technicians filling positions with local companies in a variety of industries including aerospace, defense, energy, medical equipment, and industrial instruments. Courses in the you may teach include, Safety, Print Reading, Fundamentals of DC/AC, Advanced DC/AC, Electronics Assembly, Industrial Wiring, Motors and Controls, Digital Devices I, Operational Amplifiers, Vacuum and Power RF Systems, PLCs, Microprocessors, Solid State Devices and Circuits, and Robotics Technology. Course assignments will be made based on experience. You will work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students. Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills. You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College. This position does have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally but does require a strong on-campus presence and may require occasional travel to all three FRCC campuses. Please note: You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment. Also, Front Range Community College is an E-Verify employer.

Requirements

  • A relevant current industry license or certification and 4,000 verified occupational/industry hours within seven (7) years.
  • A related associate degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate and 4,000 verified occupational/industry hours with seven (7) years.
  • A related Bachelor's or any Master's degree with 18 discipline related credits and 2,000 verified occupational/industry hours within seven (7) years.
  • Any unrelated degree without a relevant current industry license or certification with 6,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 10 years ANDa Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Equivalent experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved.
  • No degree or credit-bearing post-secondary certificate or relevant current industry license or certification with 10,000 verified occupational/industry hours within 10 years ANDa Skills Demonstration for Minimum Teaching Qualifications verified by the Lead Faculty/Program Director and/or Industry Subject Matter Expert. Equivalent experience document with rubric must be completed, submitted, and approved.

  • Part-Time Instructors will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance only for the following benefit period.
