Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is looking for a full-time Diesel Technologies Instructor!We are looking for industry professionals, no prior teaching experience is required. This position will train students for service technician careers in the agricultural, construction, and heavy truck repair industries. This position includes teaching assigned classes, which may include teaching evening or weekend hours. This position will also include organizing and delivering class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner; maintaining an organized and safe environment for our students in classrooms and labs; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs; guiding and assisting students; keeping accurate records of student performance and making timely submission of academic records; providing students with timely feedback; maintaining office hours; participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success; developing, integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of the College's ongoing accreditation; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. The Workforce Institute at Lincoln Land Community College consists of 6 full-time faculty and 6 program directors who are involved in the recruitment, departmental advising and the advising of various student organizations. The Dean, who reports to the Vice President of Academic Services, heads the Department. Faculty salaries are determined by education level and experience and will be between $48,176 and $75,025. Below are the salary ranges for each level of education. Additional compensation beyond base salary can be earned through extra teaching assignments during the academic year and in the summer, as well as coordinator assignments. No degree/Some college credit/Certificate of Completion/Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree: $48,176 - $71,273 Master's degree: $50,709 - $75,025

Requirements

  • We are looking for industry professionals with at least 2,000 hours of work experience in the field.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in diesel technology or extensive work experience and/or Journeyman status.
  • Experience working with machine hydraulic systems.
  • Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction and maintain curriculum.
  • Teach/conduct assigned classes, labs, clinicals, studio and internships.
  • Prepare lessons and provide course syllabus for courses taught that accurately reflects course content and evaluation procedures.
  • Create a learning environment that fosters student success.
  • Develop, integrate, evaluate, and assess student learning outcomes in support of the College's ongoing accreditation.
  • Participate in developing and reviewing curricula and instructional methods and with the articulation of courses as necessary.
  • Consult with advisory committee(s) if appropriate for program/curriculum.
  • Evaluate and assist students.
  • Keep accurate records of student performance including following evaluation procedures as outlined in the relevant course syllabus.
  • Provide students with constructive and timely feedback.
  • Maintain office hours consistent with Section 8.3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Comply with registration/records procedures.
  • Participate in professional development
  • Remain current in one's discipline.
  • Participate in professional growth activities.
  • Attend scheduled monthly department meetings and participate in departmental/institutional operations.
  • Contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in program review.
  • Complete academic assessment activities.
  • Conduct current programmatic assessment activity to at least one course assignment, activity, or assessment twice per academic year.
  • Compile and submit resultant assessment data as prescribed by academic services division.
  • Document changes made based on aggregated data in discipline and department meetings.
