About The Position

Temporary, Part-Time Instructor (Diesel Mechanics/Forklift Instructor)

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of experience in Diesel Mechanics/Forklift
• Possession of an Associate Degree from an accredited college AND six (6) years of experience in Diesel Mechanics/Forklift
• May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Diesel Mechanics. (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990)
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Nice To Haves

• Journeymanship papers or equivalent from a recognized organization.
• Recent experience in teaching Forklift Courses.
• Experience working with Automotive Trades Union for Heavy Duty Mechanics.
• Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and diesel educational programs is desirable.
