About The Position

Aleut is in search of a highly motivated individual to develop, instruct, validate, and maintain distance learning Space Battle Management, Space Domain Awareness (SDA), and Missile Warning course material at the 319th Combat Training Squadron, Peterson SFB CO in support of the USSF Officer Training Course Distance Learning (OTC-DL).

Requirements

  • Broad, instructor-level understanding of Guardian Fundamentals, Space Battle Management concepts, including command and control (C2), operational planning, and execution within the space domain
  • Knowledge of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and SDA, including tracking systems, sensor networks, and object characterization
  • Understanding of missile warning systems, including space-based infrared architectures, launch detection, and threat reporting processes
  • Familiarity with key systems and frameworks supporting missile warning and SSA (e.g., OPIR systems, ground-based radar integration, and data fusion processes)
  • Ability to teach operational decision-making in time-sensitive, high-consequence environments
  • Knowledge of joint and combined operations, including integration with air, maritime, space, and cyber domains
  • Familiarity with Joint Doctrine, Service Doctrine, to include Joint Publications
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning standards (SCORM, xAPI)
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver distance learning content, including asynchronous modules, recorded lectures, and scenario-based exercises
  • Strong instructional capability to translate complex operational concepts into structured, measurable learning objectives
  • Understanding of DoD training frameworks and standards (e.g., ADDIE/ISD, CJCSI guidance, and service-specific training requirements)
  • Effective communication skills for remote instruction and learner engagement
  • Active or current Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility required
  • Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in space operations, missile warning, air/missile defense, or related DoD operational domain
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Space Operations, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field; OR a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted

  • Instructor certifications (e.g., military instructor qualification)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, qualify on, and deliver asynchronous distance learning course materials (lessons, labs, and assessments) aligned with Instructional Systems Design (ISD/ADDIE) principles and applicable DoD/USSF doctrine
  • Maintain Distance Learning Office Hours for no more than 10 hours a week
  • Assist students with Distance Learning, Learning Management System (LMS) and remote on-boarding activities
  • Develop and maintain instructional content covering Space Battle Management, including command and control (C2), decision-making processes, and operational coordination across space forces
  • Develop and maintain instructional content covering Service and Joint Doctrine concepts, USSF Mission Planning processes, and basic Guardian Fundamentals
  • Develop and maintain training on SDA, including object tracking, catalog maintenance, conjunction assessment, and threat characterization
  • Develop and maintain Missile Warning course content, including early warning systems, infrared (IR) sensor architectures, launch detection, and reporting procedures
  • Integrate real-world scenarios involving missile launches, orbital events, and adversary actions to support decision-making exercises
  • Be prepared to support development of simulation-based training and operational vignettes
  • Interface with internal and external agencies to ensure course content reflects current doctrine, threat intelligence, and operational practices
  • Coordinate instructional activities with Contract Task Lead and government personnel
  • Support periodic in-residence or hybrid instruction as required
  • Develop assessments to measure student proficiency against learning objectives
  • Ensure course materials comply with classification guidance and operational security requirements
  • Assist in LMS course setup, content delivery, and student performance tracking
  • Participate in course reviews, validation events, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Additional duties as assigned
