Responsibilities include facilitation of activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students. Faculty will also interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. A key part of the role is to integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experiences. Faculty act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC. The Automotive Technology Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for assigned program to include, but not limited to, implementing, revising, and evaluating assigned program area curriculum; utilizing all resources available to innovate and to change to meet evolving program and industry needs. The technical instructor provides up-to-date skills training and instruction to meet the learning needs of students. Technical Instructors at TSTC benefit from a small class capacity, typically ranging between 15 -20 students, with an average of 15-20 per class. Courses are structured to include a brief lecture session followed by hands-on laboratory activities, maximizing engagement and practical learning. While on campus, instructors are expected to be available for tutoring, supplementing scheduled teaching requirements and student recruiting events. At TSTC, all technical courses incorporate in-person laboratory tasks. A typical day involves teaching one or two courses, with instructors potentially managing 3 to 4 courses depending on student enrollment. Occasionally, Technical Instructors may be tasked with additional courses, reflecting fluctuating enrollment demands. The standard workday spans from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mon-Fri, with occasional evening or weekend commitments. Additionally, opportunities exist to provide extracurricular training for industry professionals.
