This position is a full-time, 12 Month Instructor position. The Department of Information Science seeks an excellent, student-centered instructor with the ability to teach and mentor students in technical areas such as front-end development, web design, database, programming, and project management. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Strong technical skills in front-end development, including standards-based website design, database, and programming fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organization skills
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching
  • Ability to provide effective mentorship

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of teaching experience
  • Two years of leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Work well with others across multiple areas (e.g., business/professional skills, mass and applied communications, and fine arts)
  • Advise students
  • Engage in student recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Participate in faculty governance and program accreditation efforts
  • Pursue professional development opportunities that can lead to new course offerings
  • Expand the school's community outreach activities
