About The Position

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Consult with faculty to understand instructional goals, student learning outcomes, and teaching challenges, and recommend appropriate technology-supported approaches. Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies, including AI-enabled tools, with attention to student engagement, learning outcomes, and student success. Support exploratory pilots and targeted implementations, helping faculty translate instructional ideas into effective course practices. Provide consultative support related to instructional technology platforms, including guidance on LMS features, integrations, and third-party tools. Assist with the review and consideration of instructional technology integrations, including Learning Tools Interoperability tools, with attention to alignment, usability, accessibility, and sustainability. Capture and analyze faculty and student feedback related to pilot efforts and instructional technology initiatives through surveys, reflections, or other assessment methods, and synthesize findings to inform continuous improvement. Document use cases, effective practices, and lessons learned to inform broader adoption, resource development, and training efforts. Collaborate with Instructional Designers, Instructional Technologists, Multimedia Specialists, and trainers to ensure that promising practices can be implemented, supported, and scaled. Contribute to the ongoing improvement and sustainability of instructional technology practices across programs and modalities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Education, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience supporting instructional technology platforms in a higher education or academic environment.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Canvas preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate educational technologies in relation to instructional goals and student outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evaluating or supporting AI-enabled instructional technologies.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology integrations, including LTI-based tools and cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty on course design, instructional innovation, or pilot initiatives.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles and student-centered learning practices.
