OVERVIEW The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) designs and develops engaging, instructionally sound learning products that accurately convey complex content. In addition to strong instructional design expertise, this role demonstrates ownership of assigned training initiatives by coordinating development activities, managing deliverables, and supporting on-time delivery of trainings. The ideal candidate is both a creative instructional designer and a reliable project owner who can drive work forward in a structured, deadline-driven environment. DUTIES Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web-based training solutions using the ADDIE model and performance-based, lean instructional design processes Conduct learner and performance analysis and create training design documents that clearly define learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment approaches Design and develop instructional materials, educational resources, and tools Take ownership of assigned projects by coordinating development activities, managing deliverables, and supporting on-time delivery Translate complex source content and subject matter expert input into clear, accurate, and well-structured instructional materials Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather requirements, validate content accuracy, and refine instructional approaches Provide recommendations for modifications or enhancements to training content, learning activities, and assessments Utilize multimedia, instructional technologies, and authoring tools to create engaging classroom and eLearning content Ensure training products comply with applicable standards, guidance, and regulations, including accessibility and established style guides Suggest and assist with implementing new instructional technologies to improve training efficiency, effectiveness, and learner experience Participate in project planning activities and proactively communicate status, risks, and issues related to assigned instructional design work Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members, including other instructional designers, eLearning developers, writers, and reviewers, to produce high-quality deliverables Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design processes, templates, and best practices Perform other duties as assigned in support of project and business needs
