About The Position
SUNY Morrisville is seeking an Instructional Support Assistant to support our School of Agriculture, Business, and Technology's Agricultural Engineering and Diesel Technology programs. This is a Full-Time position in a growing Agricultural Engineering Technology department that offers Associate Degrees (A.A.S. and A.O.S.) in Diesel Technology and Agricultural Engineering Technology, as well as a Bachelor's of Technology (B.T.) in Technology Management. The successful candidate will help in the day-to-day operation of laboratory operation/preparation and instructing laboratory sections.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Diesel Technology or closely related field
- Basic computer skills
- Commercial driver's license, or willing to work towards obtaining one
Nice To Haves
- Must be able to work with students in groups and individually.
- Successful candidate should have fabrication skills for teaching aids, equipment operations/maintenance talents and be ability to fulfill other department needs.
Responsibilities
- Assisting faculty in the set up and break down of laboratory activities, ensuring that the laboratories function and appear in a professional manner including the clean-up and storage of laboratory materials.
- Perform departmental safety inspections and recommendations.
- Create laboratory aids.
- Provide regular maintenance for laboratory equipment and training units.
- Maintain the tool room inventory and make replacement recommendations.
- Maintain the Agriculture Engineering reference library.
- Maintain the inventory of supplies and consumables.
- Maintain current MSDS references and other safety related documents.
- Attending training sessions to remain current in the industry
- Teaching laboratory sections
- Assisting students on school activities
- Assisting in the upkeep of a school owned lodge
- Assisting in recruiting activities that may include nights, weekends, and offsite locations.
