About The Position

The Department of Economics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant Pool. Assist faculty with evaluating student work and examinations, and other duties as assigned. Assist in the departmental office in providing guidance and information. This is a pool of Instructional Student Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student at CSUF in good academic standing (not on probation, continued probation, academic dismissal)
• Excellent computer skills including Canvas, Office, Excel and PowerPoint and other spreadsheet and data entry experience
• Type 40 CWAM and have a working knowledge of library and internet research
• Must have an excellent command of English – both oral and written
• Be able to follow directions, show initiative, be reliable and have the ability to assist with large classes

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with evaluating student work and examinations
• Assist in the departmental office in providing guidance and information
• Collect and organize student submissions made through hard copy, Canvas, and/or other digital submission facilities
• Read, evaluate, and assign grades to student work
• Maintain and submit student grades
• Meet regularly with a faculty supervisor, in-person, by phone, or by email
• Meet deadlines defined by university policy and/or supervisor
• Assist administrative support coordinator and administrative assistant with clerical duties
• Complete student worker training as required
