The Instructional Learning Designer supports the design, development, and implementation of K–16 STEMM curriculum that translates authentic St. Jude research into engaging, classroom-ready learning experiences. This role collaborates with researchers, physicians, educators, and internal teams to create interactive, standards-aligned instructional materials that foster scientific thinking, data literacy, and student curiosity. The Instructional Learning Designer contributes to curriculum development across the full design lifecycle, from concept and storyboarding to development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring all learning experiences are accessible, rigorous, and grounded in real-world science. Work Location Requirement This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must reside in the Memphis, TN, area and be available to attend in-person meetings, events, and collaborative sessions on the St. Jude campus as needed. The St. Jude STEMM Education and Outreach Program is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer to join our STEMM Education and Outreach Program, where they will play a key role in developing engaging, interactive science learning modules for K–16 students. In this position, the Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, educators, and program staff to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible, age-appropriate content that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration. The ideal candidate brings experience in curriculum development or e-learning, a strong understanding of instructional design principles, and familiarity with digital learning tools and platforms.
